Avoidance of conflicts of interest
Attorneys are prohibited from representing conflicting interests on the basis of professional regulations (Sec. 43a para. 4 of the German Federal Lawyers’ Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung)). Before accepting a mandate, it is therefore always checked whether there is a conflict of interest.

Extrajudicial arbitration
In the event of disputes between lawyers and their clients, it is possible, upon request, to settle disputes extrajudicial at the regional bar association (pursuant to Sec. 73 Para. 2 No. 3 in conjunction with Sec. 73 Para. 5 of the German Federal Lawyers’ Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung)) or at the arbitration board of the bar association at the Federal Bar Association (Sec. 191 f of the German Federal Lawyers’ Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung)), which can be found on the Internet on the homepage of the Federal Bar Association (www.brak.de or by email: schlichtungsstelle( at )brak.de).

Information on online dispute resolution in accordance with Article 14 Para. 1 ODR-VO Regulation (EU) 524/2013]:
LANA AP.MA International Legal Services also draws consumers’ attention to the European Union’s platform for online dispute resolution (OS platform): http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/ODR. This platform is used to initiate dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. However, lawyers are not obliged to take part in such proceedings. LANA AP.MA International Legal Services is not willing to take part in a dispute resolution process that can be initiated via this platform.
