In mid-July 2024 we had the opportunity to visit McFarlane Aviation LLC in Baldwin City, Kansas. Even the company’s founder, David McFarlane, took the opportunity to show us his impressive company as part of a factory tour.
What does the company do? It is a diversified manufacturing company that specializes in providing affordable, high-quality FAA-PMA components. In addition to an extensive line of high-quality FAA-PMA replacement parts, offer a complete line of customer-designed and OEM products, including door and flight control cables, push-pull controls, cargo and seat rails, and many other unique products for the broader aerospace community.
As part of our global practice, we often hear about the supposed “superiority” of German technology.
Those of you who also work internationally can probably only smile wearily right now.
Anyone who believes that Germany is a “leader” in some area should reconsider their view – this may have been correct in 1912, but should be updated now by looking to the US or Asia. Nowadays, German can pride themselves of being global champions of recycling household waste – with scientifically proven almost zero impact on a global level… Many thanks to our great German government for this “amazing achievement”, well done!
A reason to be sad in Germany? No way – but a reason to learn from others corporate groups and work hard again without being high-browed, for instance in the US.
